Kris Aquino has opened up about her fears of potentially missing her second son’s 18th birthday next year due to ongoing health issues.
Dubbed as “the Queen of All Media,” Aquino took to her Instagram and accounts on Saturday, April 20, to open up about her recent health struggles, admitting that she’s been withholding a lot of details from the public due to the somber nature of the news.
Reflecting on April 19, 2007, the day she welcomed her “living guardian angel” into the world, she recalled the past month spent with her eldest son, Joshua, who had returned to the Philippines. During her quarantine period necessitated by various vaccines, James Carlo Aquino-Yap Jr., known as Bimby, her youngest son, provided her with much-needed companionship. Bimby celebrated his 17th birthday last friday.
“Ayokong sirain ang dapat good vibes sa 17th birthday ni Bimb, but I also know for all those praying for us, I owe you the truth,” she said in a statement.
With her recent social media post, Kris reaffirmed a commitment made on September 28, 2018, when they first became aware of concerns surrounding her rapid weight loss and received her blood test results.
“I’m sorry for showing weakness yesterday, when I cried non-stop because of my fear that I may not be around to be with you on your 18th birthday,” she said.
Kris acknowledged her own shortcomings in not expressing gratitude despite facing significant challenges, including five autoimmune conditions and three of which are life-threatening.
She praised her son Bimby for his remarkable maturity and willingness to assist her nurses and continued faith in God and calm demeanor during the moments of alarming health crises when her blood pressure and heart rate spiked.
“No matter how much physical pain I endure daily-my heart overflows with love because of your caring, selfless, unconditional love,” she said.
Aquino expressed her sole desire to her son: for his character to remain strong, his values and integrity to stay admirable, his respectful and polite manners unchanged, and his passion for learning to persist, motivating him to fully dedicate himself to his pursuits.
“I love you not only during my lifetime or yours but definitely for eternity. You’re my greatest achievement, because of your capacity to love-this early you’ve embraced your responsibility to take care of your kuya, and since you were 11 years old, you’ve been so protective of me,” she highlighted.
In the last part of her messages, Kris emphasized, “Love doesn’t die my honey, please remember that. Happy Birthday to the love of my life,” she concluded.
Alongside extending her greetings to her son Bim, Kris Aquino also greeted fellow actress Kim Chiu on her birthday.
